The north shore is the best kept secret on the island. Some units here are built only 40 feet from a wall of the best snorkeling on the island. You just go down the ladder and are in a natural aquarium. Additionally, you are close to the Jack Nicholas designed golf course and the Audobaun bird sanctuary. Dive boats can pick you up at your dock or it is a short walk to a dive shop. This is a very quiet area where you are within walking distance of town or just a 5 minute cab ride. There are plenty of restaurants close by.

The secret is getting out about Cozumel’s South Shore. Visitors come to this area of the island for its white sandy beaches. The famous Chankanaab Underwater Park and all the major dive reefs such as Palancar and Santa Rosa are found on Cozumel’s South Shore Dive operators are very abundant in the southern area. The snorkeling is not as good here until you get out to the reef and town is a 15 minute taxi ride. Both areas are lovely, but they are very different.
